Well, the weather for the Finger Lakes portion of our trip turned out to be not so great, so we abandoned our grand outdoors plans and went to the Corning Glass Museum for the afternoon. There is everything you ever wanted to know or see about glass here, from the history of glass, to kitchy Christmas ornaments, to glass blowing exhibitions, to fiber optic cables, to fiberglass car bodies, to high art. It's well worth the trip if you are traveling in the area, but not as satisfying as a hike on a sunny day.
